Travel Nurses Buck the Trend

I was reading an article in the paper about how, in the US, August is becoming a slower business month because of vacation time and that we are following European business traditions where companies are actually closing down.

The Travel Nurse Industry experiences just the opposite in August. Instead of business being stagnate, August is the biggest month of the year for Travel Registered Nurses looking for new jobs. One reason for this is that January is the second biggest month for Travel Nurses to start new assignments and about 90% of Travel Nurses who started their assignments in January usually extend their existing 13 week assignment into a second 13 week assignment . After the second thirteen week assignment, many Travel Nurses are ready to move on to experience another new area.

Not only are more Travel Nurses looking for new positions in August but Hospitals are also gearing up for Travelers for the holidays, so the demand for Travelers increases as well.

Needless to say, August is a good time to be looking.
