Want to get a Travel job quickly….it’s all in the paperwork.

Linda Le, PHR- Director of Human Resources
HEALTHCAREseeker.com

“Human Resources” is a term that causes most travelers to cringe when they hear it. But, when it comes down to it, it is one of the most important functions within a company.  Yeah, we may be what people call the “paper pushers,” but when you really think about it, your paperwork is what sets you apart from the other candidates that are being submitted.  Hospitals do not get to see you, so the only way they get to know you initially, is by the paperwork we send over.

Hospitals value Travel Nurse Agencies that submit a candidate’s paperwork quickly.  Everything from your credentials, resume, to your references is reviewed upon hire.  These are things that can help you get that first interview. Other paperwork that most nurses don’t consider is their medical records, educational testing, and compliance information.

We find that nurses who have the complete package, from their application to their medical paperwork, are the ones who get the job. Some hospitals want nurses to start right away, so the individuals prepared with the proper paperwork are more likely to obtain a job first.

I have come across thousands of nurses who generally don’t enjoy “the hiring process”. But once a nurse completes the process, they never have to go through it again.  Do I hear any complaints six months down the road?  No, because our nurses only have to go through it once.  Although nurses generally consider the paperwork procedure “time-consuming”, soon enough they realize that the time spent was “worth it”.

The great thing about HEALTHCAREseeker.com is that we have a great reputation for compliance.   We are a JCAHO certified staffing company.  This tells the hospital that we do our job of getting the necessary paperwork for the hospital.  It tells them they don’t have to worry about an audit.  Hospitals use HEALTHCAREseeker.com over other clients because we are competent and can get the necessary paperwork in a quick and timely manner.  These are just a few quotes that we hear from our hospitals:

“HEALTHCAREseeker.com has always been prompt in responding to our traveler needs by providing us with excellent candidates.  The nurses they have sent to us to date have always been knowledgeable, courteous, and professional… I highly recommend HEALTHCAREseeker.com as a reputable company and have enjoyed working with them.”  Parkview Hospital, CA

“Our experience with HEALTHCAREseeker.com has been positive in all areas.  Their administrative side was customer-oriented and smoothed the contract management for us.”  Simi Valley, CA

The Human Resources team at HEALTHCAREseeker.com is the liaison between the nurse and the hospital.  A great reputation, in regards to compliance from hospitals, means that we are their top priority vendor for fulfilling their needs.  What this means for our nurses, is that their profiles are viewed first for the positions.

However, nothing will speed up the hiring process more than preparing the proper paperwork ahead of time. So, here is a list of the paperwork our company needs:
Initial requirement for interview:

  1. Application or Resume
  2. Skills Checklist
  3. Credentials
  4. References

Once hired paperwork needed:

  1. Contract
  2. Certifications/licensure
  3. I-9 with identification
  4. Financial paperwork (direct deposit, w-4, etc…)
  5. Medical paperwork (which is the main reason for delays in assignments)
    1. Physical (within one year)
    2. PPD (within one year)
    3. MMR (vaccination or titers)
    4. Hepatitis B series or declination
    5. Varicella (vaccination, proof, or titer)
    6. Tetanus (every 10 years)
  6.  JCAHO education/Patient Safety Goal booklets/OSHA
  7. Competency testing (dependent on hospital requirement)
  8. Drug Screening (10 Panel, administered by Quest Diagnostics)
  9. HEALTHCAREseeker.com Handbook Acknowledgement

If you have these things organized to send over to your recruiter, it increases your chance of getting the job first and starting right away.

The Human Resources department is here to help you get the job you want.  We want you to have a great travel assignment that is rewarding and memorable.  Our job is to get you there.  Take the journey with us because we know you won’t forget it.
