Travelers Q&A: Do agencies have their own housing?

January 17, 2012

In 99% of the cases, no.

Agencies work with rental housing complexes, brokers and extended stay hotels to accommidate the Travel Nurses when they are placed. A few Hospitals in very remote parts of the country have their own housing accommodations that agencies will use.

75% of all Travel Registered Nurses will select a housing stipend instead of having the agency provide housing because the Travel Nurse can 1) often get the stipend tax free and 2) can select their own housing pocketing the difference.

Any agency you are working with should provide you with the address and photo’s of where you are going to be staying once you have accepted the assignment.
