Travelers Stories: Karenree Jones , RN is’s Traveler of the Month

February 27, 2012 has announced that PACU Registered Nurse Karenree Jones is February’s Traveler RN of the month. The award is given to employees of that exemplify professionalism in working with Hospital staff and patients.

According to Karenree ‘s Recruiter, Jennifer McCabe, “ Karenree has been such a joy to work with.  She is really down to earth and when I first spoke to her about where she wanted to go, why she wanted to go there and how we could help her get there, it was apparent that Karenree was an experienced Traveler who knew what to tell me.  In our training process called INSPECT I am taught to ask a lot of detailed specific questions so that we can really understand everything about our Nurses so that when we place them, the nurse has very little surprises. Through those questions, I learned that Karenree had left a career in the marketing industry to become a nurse.   She also has a daughter in Alaska and really wanted to spend some quality time with her.  I learned that Karenree had lived in Alaska a long time ago and that she cared deeply about doing what was best for her patients. I spent a lot of time with Karenree and she was always great to talk with”.

Mrs. McCabe continued, “I then saw a PACU RN position that came about at Alaska Regional Hospital in Anchorage, Alaska that was a perfect fit. Based on the time that Karenree has been on the Travel assignment, she has been doing a fantastic job and totally love’s her assignment plus the time she has been able to spend with her daughter.  As a recruiter you go to bat for your Nurses who do a great job and who are reasonable in what they are asking for. With Registered Nurses like Karenree, you try everything you can to help them get what they want. Unfortunately you can’t help everyone, but when a Nurse like Karenree does a great job on her assignment, you end up working with them over and over again because a trust bond has been development. Some of that bond is because of the business we are in but another part of that bond is the friendship and respect you develop with that person. I really like Karenree and I will do whatever I can to help her in the assignments to come”.

On hearing about winning the award, Karenree said”  I am flattered and it is really nice to be appreciated. I have been recommending to all my friends”.
